No, I Am Not Claire Martin
This blog came into existence as a joking response to the fact that Claire Martin was so much more successful at getting her name mentioned on Dave Barry's Blog than the rest of his fan boys (including me). These days this where I stick copies of the funny, silly, crazy things that I either come across, or which are sent to me because people know I appreciate that sort of thing.

Ooooookay.
BTW, I learned about the location the jumper chose. It was featured on a show called "Megastructures" and was used to fill time on a surprisingly interesting history of the Golden Gate Bridge.
This is not the Golden Gate Bridge. I forget its name but it's in the godforsaken but beautiful US state of West Virginia.
West Virginia is so desperate for tourism that they allow people to jump off this bridge one day each year. Jumpers come from all over the world.
Good lord, I'm too chicken even to drive on the dang bridge.
